Plugged In Parents is an international website for parents that provides practical family information. We pride ourselves in publishing original, evidence-based articles that help parents “plug in” to current issues.

In exchange for contributing to Plugged In Parents, authors receive international recognition, as well as an opportunity to include a short blurb about themselves, their business, or website at the bottom of each article. It is a great way to gain credibility while increasing personal writing exposure.


Process Overview
Our editorial advisory board performs reviews of all submissions. We acknowledge receipt of manuscripts after two criteria are met:

1. We receive an electronic file (Microsoft Word only) via e-mail.

2. The article's references (if any) are correctly numbered and listed at the end of the article.

You will be notified of the board's recommendation approximately 4 weeks after receipt of submission is acknowledged.


Word Length Requirement
Articles should be 500 to 1000 words in length.


Cover Letter
On a cover letter, list author’s name and contact information. E-mail address, mailing address, and daytime phone number are required.


Copy Editing
All submissions are edited for clarity, style and conciseness. The final version of the article will be e-mailed to the author prior to publication, providing an opportunity to request changes and make corrections. Plugged In Parents reserves the right to reformat any tables or graphs, as well as choose different photography.

After an article is accepted for publication, authors transfer first-time North American publishing rights to Plugged In Parents, LLC and the Web site.


Publication Dates
After your article is accepted for publication and edited, the editor will notify you of a projected publication date. This date may change according to scheduling adjustments, final page count and various other factors.


Checklist for Submission
Make sure your submission meets these requirements:

• Send the article as an electronic file in Microsoft Word.
• Include a cover letter providing names and all contact information for authors.
• List, number and save references in the same document as the article at the end of the article.
• Include a short biographical statement for each author. You may include information about your business or website here.
• Include permission for adaptation or use of materials published elsewhere.
• Include relevant photos or figures, with captions for each. Send photos electronically in .jpeg or .png formats.
