The following is a Micro Movie Review: short and to the point, only what parents need to know.
A quirky scientist thinks he has solved the problem of world hunger by transforming rain into food. But when there is a sudden excess of cuisine, things don't turn out as he might have hoped.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is endearing, laugh-out-loud funny, and masterfully animated. After seeing the trailers and feeling less than luke warm, I was very pleasantly surprised.
As with most family films outside of Pixar, there are cheap shots like mild potty humor, one mention of hellhole, and a monkey throwing his own...you know. But it's not enough for me to discourage parents. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is best for kids old enough to understand the underlying message about excess.
OVERALL
If you want to see another 3D film, go to this one. Especially if you have elementary age kids.
