Bella, Edward, and Jacob are back in the next chapter of The Twilight Saga. When Edward decides Bella would be safer without him, he leaves her to wallow in her heartbreak. She can only find comfort in the company of best friend Jacob, as well as the visions she sees of Edward when she does something reckless. But soon her thrill-seeking backfires. Thinking Bella dead, Edward seeks to destroy himself. Can Bella get to him in time to show him she's still alive?

New Moon is a far better than the first film. It stays true to the book, which means it may be too slow paced for those who haven't read it. The CGI wolves aren't the best animation we've seen, but viewers won't care. They are incredibly fun to watch and were my favorite part of the entire film.

As far as acting, director Chris Weitz has brought out a Bella that I truly enjoyed watching (unlike the previous film). And Taylor Lautner is brilliant as Jacob Black. He and Stewart shine together and make the parts without Edward just as entertaining.

As far as violence, New Moon can get a bit bloody and intense, but compared to other vampire films, it's vastly tame. Middle school age kids shouldn't have a problem if accompanied by a parent. The violent scenes are few and do not last long. The majority of the film deals with Bella's coping with a broken heart.

There are bare chests galore in New Moon, but the film is less sensual than the first. There are only a few smooches, which are innocent and sweet, and no swearing. This is a great film for moms to share with their daughters. Have fun!

OVERALL
Far better than the first film. Slow paced but enjoyable!
